Wood Knife Block

A wood knife block is most simply a block of wood with holds cut into it the width and length of various knives. They can be easily custom fabricated although they are typically included with a set of kitchen knives for convenience and display. They often store the knives at an angle for easier grasping of individual handles.

A wood knife block can be prepared with a variety of finishes from a rough sanded finish that is unsealed and rustic looking to a smooth ebony finish that looks like black mirrored glass. A sealed block is preferred to avoid stains and be easily cleaned, but unsealed wood is surprising sterile and stain resistant, much more so than plastic.

A wood knife block can be found anywhere knives are sold. Knives are sold in many different types of stores including grocery stores and big box retailers as well as online. There are many levels of quality and typically a buyer will pay for what they get. There really aren’t any killer deals on knifes.
